Short Cat Story

Cat suddenly appears in neighborhood.  (Very friendly, evidence it had once been someone's pet)
Lady in neighborhood feeds cat. (mentions maybe that wasn't a good idea)
Second day, talk with a couple of people and decide it should be taken to Human Society.
Third day, didn't see cat.
Fourth day evening, cat gets hit by a car then hides.
Fifth day morning, cat is found crying and dragging its self with hind legs paralyzed.
Call animal control so cat can be put out of it misery.
Note to coward who dropped cat in neighborhood, because of you and your lack of responsibility toward your own pet several people had to be put through pain and sorrow seeing your cat suffer.  I shutter to think of the anguish and unrelenting pain that poor cat suffered all night long.  The responsible thing for you to have done if you were unable to care for it was take your pet to the Human Society.

We have a cat that showed up at our door about 18 months ago, the size of a softball, and shivering. She's stuck around, had some kittens…I keep thinking she'll disappear like all the rest who come and go, but maybe I should own up to the thing…get her fixed, etc. She doesn't even have a name.

  2. Grandma-P says:

Seems that cat has adopted you, lucky cat.

  3. Steve Betz says:

Wow — what a sad story. Part of me hopes the cat was an escapee, not an abandonment — but if there were no tags, that argues against it. How can people be so thoughtless?

  4. Amy Sue says:

What a sad story…I'm sorry for the cat, and sorry for all of you that had to see it suffer so.

  5. Grandma-P says:

AmySue – I heard that the lady that had feed the cat was crying when Animal Control picked up the cat. When I called the Vet to find out if there was an animal rescue in our area, The lady said many mornings when she comes in to work, people have left animals in boxes or crates at their front door.

  6. Grandma-P says:

We are fairly certain the cat was abandoned.

  7. Mello says:

    That's so sad! 😦

  8. Carol says:

I understand your anger and I have often felt the same way. However, there's always another side to the story. Remember there are many people who have lost their jobs and/or their homes and so they can't take care of their pets. Some owners are so stressed out that they aren't thinking clearly, so they release their pets to the streets instead of taking them to a shelter.

  9. It is remarkable, rather valuable phrase
